Some of my favorite art subjects are wildlife, fish and
shells. The many colorful variations in nature are constantly inspiring.
History is another subject that holds a great fascination
for me, inspiring many pieces of art. If you are familiar with the subjects of a painting you will appreciate the
accuracy of each detail for time and place. Often as much time goes into my research as into the painting itself...ah,
but it's a wonderful way to spend time!
Living
by the ocean has contributed to my subject matter too, as whimsical mermaids occasionally hijack a painting to inhabit (caring
not at all about factual accuracy).
